INTERWEAVERS
is a company importing high quality folk art, primitive furniture, decorative
accents, architectural antiques, devotional art, ceramics and traditional
textiles from Guatemala and other Central American countries. They
are located in Smithville, Texas... the town where Hope Floats was filmed.
Interweavers was founded
in 1986 and is owned by MaryAnn Walborg, a home economist who has a special
interest in folk art and interior decor. She is especially interested
in light and dark punctuated with color... a perfect match with Central
America.
After leaving many years in the
teaching field in 1985, MaryAnn formed Interweavers to promote the
high quality of handcrafted products from Guatemala. At the same
time, she formed an export company in Guatemala where she travels every
few months to personally purchase and oversee the export of products for Interweavers.
By personally selecting all inventory
MaryAnn insures a high level of quality for the imported product, maintains
reasonable prices, and keeps abreast of the trends in interior design in
the United States and products that are available in Latin America.
This also means that information
about each piece is available for the purchaser, if desired. We hope
that you like what you see here and will visit often our frequently changing
site.
